Deepen your coaching practice by learning more about the human side of coaching.

Coaching is more than programming, counting sets and reps, and responding to check ins. Coaching is a uniquely human endeavor. It’s one that requires acknowledging and respecting the lived experiences and humanity of the people in front of you. That humanity includes things such as systemic oppression, mental health, and trauma.

So much of fitness coaching education is focused on the science of coaching - the sets, the reps, the periodization. But what about the human aspects, the art, of coaching?

That’s where THE MINDFUL COACHING PROGRAM comes in.

Welcome to the MINDFUL coaching Program.

I invite you to expand your coaching practice to consider the more human elements of your clients and cultivate supportive and inclusive environments for them to thrive.

MINDFUL is a 6 week program designed to provide education and real, actionable resources for fitness professionals surrounding mental health, trauma, and sociological issues that their clients may face.

MINDFUL is a blend of continuing education, skill development, and integration aimed at helping fitness professionals become the best coaches they can be.

HI, I’m Gabby

Hi, I’m Gabby (she/her) and I’m a trauma-mindful and inclusive strength and fitness coach and educator. Since I started coaching clients 7 years ago, I knew that what I really wanted was for the fitness industry to be different. My practices of putting humanity first, focusing on inclusivity, and integrating my psychology and sociology background into fitness didn’t fit in. I wasn’t ripped or shredded, I didn’t tell my clients “no excuses”, and I didn’t use transformation photos to sell my services. I’ll be honest with you, approaching a coaching business in this way was scary and I thought I was going to fail more times than I can count. Despite numerous people saying it wouldn’t work, I knew that focusing on the client and providing a welcoming and inclusive environment was the key to helping clients become their strongest selves in all ways.

MINDFUL was born out of my desire to implement change, real change. Like you, I want a fitness industry that focuses on the humanity of the clients in front of them, that is inclusive of all people, and that puts wellness before white-knucke compliance. As I expanded in my coaching and wanted to deepen my skillset surrounding topics like mental health and trauma, I looked around and saw that there weren’t very many programs available to do that. All of the continuing education available was technical or business oriented and rooted in shaming practices and old school marketing. The fitness industry deserves better and coaches deserve a space to learn and integrate the more human side of coaching. So, I built MINDFUL.

More about the mindful coaching program:

What MINDFUL coaching program IS:

  • Mindful coaching is holistic coaching centered on providing a welcoming and supportive container for client growth.

  • Mindful coaching aims to integrate mind, body, and spirit into the coaching experience to help clients feel comfortable showing up as their fullest selves in pursuit of accomplishing their goals.

  • Mindful coaching is coaching with care and inclusivity at the center.

What MINDFUL coaching program IS NOT:

  • Therapy: unless you are a licensed therapist or mental health professional, mindful coaching is not therapy! We can hold space for and honor a client's mental wellbeing but we cannot diagnose or treat mental illness.

  • Trauma treatment: unless you are licensed and trained in treating trauma, mindful coaching is not trauma response. We can aim to better understand how trauma functions so that we can hold space for clients, but we cannot diagnose or treat trauma.

  • A trauma-informed training: the MINDFUL coaching program is not a trauma-informed training program and as such, we cannot apply the label trauma-informed to our practices. What we can be is trauma-aware.
